Maybe I'm wrong (I don't have an Iphone), but it still feels minimalistic. The UI doesn't feel "material" enough, it's still a lot more abstract. We didn't get the IOS 6 skeuomorphism back. Liquid glass feels like it's trying to be an in-between design, it's not flat but it isn't skeuomorphic either. It's got more depth than the previous flat design but not it's not glossy or "realistic".

This makes me wonder if liquid glass will actually kill off flat design, companies don't seem more eager to change their whole design philosophy (yet), they're just trying to make flat design a little less boring.

It was sitting on the back of my head for a while, but I believe the reason why it *still* looks off is because the majority of the lighting is at the border, and the glass does not produce a shadow. In real life, glass produces a shadow because it is imperfect at transparency. The buttons lack any sort of shading, lighting, or depth.

Adding a white tint to the glass allows for more obvious shading within the glass, adding thickness to the glass rather than it being flat and "thin" looking depth-wise. Each button retains the liquid glass effect, with highlights, shadows, and shading throughout.

Side by side, the first one looks terrible. The buttons are just as flat as they were before, apple didn't want to commit 100% to changing the design. Did they do this for performance reasons?

I swear that one frutiger aero themed hangout game on Roblox has you first spawn in some kind of train. I would have to go back and see how they designed that

I guess you could say I'm kind of a Beyer Dynamic fanboy. I have a pair of 250 ohm DT990s and DT1990 for the Creative external DAC that I have (can't remember the model). There's just something about their signature and being open that really strikes my fancy. On my laptop I use a Soundblaster X USB soundcard, which surprisingly has enough juice to drive the 250 ohm DT990s.

Small update/idea.

So I need to still test if my plan for the boot form enclosure is going to work, but I think if it doesn't... I might still be worth making a small windows box. I have my old gpu from before I upgraded, and I have extra ram (32 Gigs I'm not really using, and is actually slower due to something my motherboard not letting my use xmp due to using all for slots I think?). Meaning all I would need is a motherboard, cpu (plus cooler), fans and a case. Could even go for a micro atx or even a mini itx case for things to be more portable. Probably something to do throughout next year if come across good deals.

I'd buy the parts now but... uh... credit card is looking a little... spent rn.

No problem! I'd also recommend looking at the old classic shell forum for more Open Shell start menu themes. There's some good ones in there that aren't included by default & need to be added manually.

If you're a Warriors type of person, then you should also get into Wings of Fire. Loved it as a kid, still kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. Just last year I read through the third series; probably my favorite out of all of them tbh
