It's basically Rodrick Heffley from Diary of a Wimpy Kid but turned into an aesthetic, a stereotype of a particular kind of edgy big brother some people had.

Pretty much this. I'm the oldest child so I haven't experienced it but I remember my cousins had something like that. As a kid your older brother would be kind of edgy in the 2000s because teenagers and stuff.
First time I heard the term Old Brother core, it was on Reddit few weeks ago, and honestly I still got almost no idea what is it lmao (I wasn't curious to take a look) I learned something new today thanks to this thread
i have an older brother i didn't even know this was a thing like i guess it's just a stereotype of older brothers based on media that doesn't reflect reality
i think 'older brother core' is maybe a little too generic and wordy for the kind of vibe it wants to represent.if i named this aesthetic it would be called kylecore -- i remember maybe like 2016-2018 there were a few times i saw that kind of dude bro xbox 360 doritos archetype come up and that's what they called them,PLUS my older cousin is a kyle and he used to be like this (at least in my kid brain) when i was younger
I'm kinda surprised to see it pop up cause I think it's pretty specific but yet evidently universal enough that a ton of people seem to understand it. The first time I saw it, I could kinda get it but I couldn't really put my finger on why. I kept thinking, "who in my life as a kid was like this for it to resonate with me this much?", since I don't have any siblings. I still don't have an answer to that.

I don't know. I just think it shows up in media a lot.
