they’re still out there, you just have to look for them. bluey is one such example. i will agree that the “hey hey apathetic parents, turn on this show and your obnoxious kids will finally leave you alone!” type of kid’s shows are far more prevalent today than they were back then, though

Yeah they're still educational cartoons (and video games) today, but it seems a majority of kids almost don't watch cartoons, now it's mostly Tiktok, Youtube shorts etc... and often watching things who are not their age. This is something I noticed as someone working in school/educational environment (that's a temporary job), this is actually very concerning how a lot of parents are absolutely not taking a look/don't care of what kids are watching, neither instruct them about. The kids talk to me about disturbing and horror youtube shorts and videos they saw, one also told me her dad showed her a gore movie when she was 4 y.o  ???  Fortunetaly that's not the case of every kids, a lot of them still like watching cartoons, reading, drawing etc. I also try to explain to them how this is important to be careful about Youtube, but I think what I try to say to help them is just a drop into the ocean

yeah, some people don’t deserve to be parents. especially those who don’t care what their kids are watching, don’t give them the time of day, and don’t help them develop the social skills they need

I see what you mean, but maybe that's a little "hateful" ? I don't want to encourage that here  ashamed0006

i kinda miss tuning into cartoon network or disney channel to see what was airing at th time
pretty much the whole reason for it's death is mostly due to how wide-spread the internet became in our daily lifes and how easy it is to have a phone now

so now parents just put youtube kids slop for their children instead of tv shows that could actually develop them. still isn't good to have them on tv lol
just wished our generation was more thoughtful of our youth. alternatively to how they manage to judge them by every single new thing they do.

As a person who tunes into Nickelodeon nowadays.. it's purely garbage LMAO. Half of it is taken up by Spongebob, Nick Jr. and Nick@Nite. The only thing I do like is that they air new episodes of Loud House and the TeenNick block online has just TeenNick programming (which I am very happy about because i can watch Kenan and Kel)
it's christmas, ya know what that means :xmas_cool:
