as someone who used mods on windows 10 to make it look like windows 7 it was such a massive headache to me since it would lag out alot of programs and harm the perfomance of those in a way it did work tho and i was happy for it but in the long run made me pissed
no clue on how it is on windows 11 but from my experience in windows 10 i wouldn't recommend it that much despite being kinda fun

yeah i think the most of the lightweight customization programs for windows 10-11 only do the taskbar and/or start menu

i think people likes the aesthetic of a period of the time and not their political stigma. since yk u can like an aesthetic but u have to be aware of how bad it was and how good we have nowadays tho

Hard agree. They are either ignorant or pursefully ignoring how things were bad for non-whites. My family has stories about how older relatives were discriminated against. Things like being able to buy food from a sandwich shop, but if you're non-white you can only make an order and receive your food in the back door. Going into the shop would be nigh unthinkable. Going to a movie meant you were sequestered in the balcony which people casually called at the time "N-word heaven".
It's also terrible for women. Until like 1972 women couldn't get a credit card without a man's permission. Same thing for women's bank accounts. Until 1964 there were still a lot of US states where it was illegal for people to marry outside of their race.
I get being nostalgic about times that were simpler for you, but it's BS that they ignore the greater implications of saying "I wish things now were like back then."

so I was just in some Discord server and somebody just send this tiktok video: www.tiktok.com/t/ZTMqUrsxc/ and this is why I don't like tiktok frutiger aero videos and also tiktok too...in this video as you can guess there's Windows 11 themed with look of Windows 7 and you may ask what's the problem ginger? well they used something called windowblinds and also Windows 11 and this makes me just disgustedfirst of all why Windows 11? this is bad OS to customize no seriously do not try to customize Windows 11 it is nightmare!!!second of all why windowblinds this software is disgusting not only waste your memory as well as performance and also it's paid but also some programs may not be customized correctly like browsers where there is no aero support at all (e.g firefox, chrome) and I remember some full screen programs didn't want to work with windowblinds like Roblox it would just glitch out or not allow you to exit full screen and also this is just a waste of money!and also taskbar looks ugly and doesn't look like Windows 7 at all and also explorer icon is still Windows 11... also they did not change the branding so it's still Windows 11 Task manager as well as Explorer it's still Windows 11 that doesn't look like Windows 7 at all!!! and also tray icons do not look like Windows 7 they still look like Windows 11 I of course do not like this kind of video because this is just Nostalgia bait / frutiger aero slop / or even nostalgia slop!of course I do not condone any of the following death threats, hatred, hate speech towards the video or tiktok creator... and please do not delete this post this is just a Rant of why I do not like tiktok videos like those! thank you.
as someone who runs with cancerous OS (windows 11 looking at u..) when i first tried windowsblinds it was pain in the ass too it glitched my whole ass UI and tbh the only softwares i use to customize my shitty ass OS is with retrobar,openshell and change ICO's ,i wish i could use ubuntu or linux mint but i cant install since this laptop is shared and my mom has no idea how to use linux lmao,speaking of frutiger aero slop i hate how its heavy mischaracterized and misused on fucking tik tok these bitches have no idea about the aesthetic
