taking advantage of a cell phone's graphics capabilities

Unread post by Tobixs »

Do you take full advantage of your mobile phone's graphics capabilities? (playing graphically demanding games or emulating computer games on WinLator, 3DS, or Dolphin ?)

It would be nice, but it would run out off charge faster, right?

I actually run Unreal Tournament 1999, Minecraft Java, a full on X11 desktop emulator, and others on my phone.

I use my computer for that, my phone is just for calls / texting / 2FA. I tried emulation before (gameboy, ds) but without physical buttons it didn't feel very good.

I even run entire QEMU VMs on my phone to install things like FreeBSD and other Linux/Unix OSes.

Oh for sure all the time. Although only for short time because then my phone power saps really quickly despite it being a really good phone. Essentially finding myself playing DS emulated games like Nintendogs Labrador & Friends or even PS2 emulated games like Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) onto my phone, even at one point playing some old GBASP emulated games like Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. Some mobile games I play that are also very graphic inducing are racing games like FR Legends, Assoluto Racing and CarX Rally with graphics pumped to max, after trying to play all of these games after some time, I find that my phone starts to heat up and get really warm and see power jump by at least 10 percent in like 15 minutes. I even try take amazing high quality photos which tends to take a lot more space to store on my phone, pushing my storage capacity to the max.

But with all these amazing new capabilities, I still find myself trying to go back to the old like trying to deliberately downgrade my photos so that they look like they were taken on an old 2008 flip phone or even disposable cameras.
