i have to say, i don’t agree. the first excuse sounds incredibly ableist (what do you mean, disabled people can’t make good art without AI?); the second one is a nothingburger, because no, photography has never replaced painting, nor will AI replace either painting or photography. i’ve never met a photographer who looks down on painters, but i HAVE met AI bros who look down on artists

As someone who doesn't do the whole wolf alpha beta male thing, they are Gamma males. Gamma is lower than Beta.
To say I despise generative A"I" with every particle of my body would perhaps be the biggest understatement of the year. It has already started to make people lazy and make the world less human by making it so that people don't have to think with their own brains, it has no real value to our society and exists for no other reason than to fatten the pockets of big tech billionaires, and people have the audacity to call images generated with it "art" (which offends me to no end as an artist myself). I've hated it since 2023 and my hatred of it only grows stronger by the day.
On a related note, I'm not a fan of those stupid little robotaxis I've been seeing around town this past year or so either and swear on my life that I will never hop into a car that doesn't have an actual person behind its wheel.
So here I am, it's in my hands, and I'll savor every moment of this...
I'm fine with text based stuff like programming, but images and music (used in a serious context, memes is fine imo) it's honestly bad since it feels like bad slop

As for me, I really hate how AI is used to collect our personal data and stuff.
For example, ChatGPT claims it doesn't see anything about you besides the information you yourself choose te tell it. But that's just simply a lie. I use different VPN servers when talking to ChatGPT, and whenever we discuss choosing some product, it'll say stuff like "Do you want the price in USD or MYR?", "Do you want me to find stores that ship to Lithuania?" (which matches the VPN server's country all the time). When I try to confront it it just says stuff like "it was just an assumption" and other lies, sometimes more complicated.
Or here's another example : I spent some time discussing how should I upgrade my Samsung RV511 laptop for it to run Windows 10 smoothly, and when i hopped on to YT afterwards i started typing "Samsung RV511" into the search bar and the first suggestion that came up was "Samsung RV511 windows 10 installation". Like, you just can't convince me YT didn't just use my chatGPT conversation info.

I honestly hate it especially AI "art", its completely soulless it removes all the talent and effort required to make art. It's also damaging the environment because of all the water it takes to cool down data centers and stuff like that, I have yet to see a single good thing come from gen AI and I fear that it could ruin the internet & our society in the future by replacing real art & artists its honestly terrifying to think about.
