I have virtualbox installed and the windows 7 iso from the frutiger aero archive, but I can't seem to get the aero theme. I tried using a "guest additions" iso, but the ones on the internet archive aren't labeled properly & I don't know where else to find them.

You need to first of all install the guest additions, there's a .exe file somewhere in that iso file that you need to launch in the virtual machine.
Then apply these settings in virtualbox for your Windows 7:

Use VMWare Fusion 13, it's free and better
