Why I love my PS3

Found a cool new game, and want to share it? This is the place for that, as well as gaming discussion in general.

Why I love my PS3

Post by xrossmediabar »

my dad's friend told him about how he got his kids a PS5 and how they were so tuff and swaggers and he thought we were doing good in school so he decided to get us one too. he looked at where he could get some and his solution was CEX (aussies, you know). He thought all PS were the same so he just got a PS3. A fat 60gb model with PS1 and PS3 support. When he set it up he was so confused as to why the menu didnt look the same as his friends photo of the PS5. we used it anyways and had lots of funs. I remember the earliest games we got being inFAMOUS and Fifa South Africa 2010. A few years pass by and the PS3 is only used as a Blu-ray player and a DVD player. But I decide to make a wishlist of stuff I want in all categories for fun one weekend, and I decide to add some fun PS3 games to my wishlist that catch my eye. Few months ago, I decided to do some chores for money and I buy 4 games at the beginning of school break.
  • Super Street Fighter IV (God I love this game!)
  • Need For Speed Most Wanted (really fun)
  • Lego Marvel Superheroes
  • GT5 (Barely play ts)

Fast forward a few months later and PURE & LittleBigPlanet are now in my collection.

I love my PS3 because it showed me I didn't need everything new to have fun. I also really love the exclusives it has. inFAMOUS, LittleBigPlanet. That XMB menu is also beautiful! I have so much memories watching movies, changing colors and fonts, playing games, messing with the photo gallery on it. I don't have many games but that'll change sometime.

Anyone feel free to friend me on PSN .I'm hugme_brutha

I grew up with the PS3 and the game library is better than on the PS4/PS5 in my opinion.
Some other cool franchises are the Uncharted games, ModNation Racers, Prototype, Killzone, the early Assassin's Creed, Dead Space, and many more.
At the time, there was also PlayStation Home, but the servers have shut down now.

Man, I wish I had it when PSHome was still up. There are some ways to get it running with and without mods.

PS3 was the first console we had in our family, my dad had the original model, I'm not sure if it was a launch model or not since I was young but that ps3 did die later on. I got a ps3 slim from best buy in 2013 and it still works, I love this thing. Also huge shoutout to my friend from my school that told me to play a game called Resistance Fall of Man, that game is sweet!

I have a Fat model too, but it's from 2007 and can only play PS1&3. The Slim seems to be better then the Fat. It has actual buttons and doesn't overheat, I assume. I will probably get a Slim some day

Resistance fall of man was one of the first games released, I remember it was all over the shelves when the console just came out. I think it's a underrated game.

Same! I love the gunplay and aesthetic. I see people talking bad on this game a lot and it hurts...  I'm glad someone else likes it :D

Although I will say I think Resistance 2 isn't as good.

My game collection! All games scored for less then $20 at my local CEX. Taken with my Fujifilm Finepix S2980
(if anyone has feedback on how to make my pics look better, do give)

My console (an original Fat. I wish my dad had either gotten one with PS2 backwards compatibility or the Slim)
