Vaporwave is like the frutiger aero of the 80s and 90s.
I love vaporwave, it was my first art-related obsession. I first knew about vaporwave in 2016 through this simpsonwave video:
After this, I looked for anything vaporwave-related. Music is mainly what I like the most, but the aesthetics are also cool obv.
Lately, I love frutiger aero more, but still frutiger aero music is not as great as vaporwave music. Although both genres could be very similar sometimes.
What do you think? do you like vaporwave? how did you discover it?
I can't really recall when exactly I discovered vaporwave, but I knew immediatly it was gonna be an interest that would stick around for a while. Alongside Frutiger Aero, vaporwave/retrowave aesthetics are one of my most favorite, alongside the music.
If I were to guess, I likely discovered this kind of music/aesthetic through music made by HOME.
Vaporwave just makes me think of 2016 because It used to be pretty popular back then (used by youtubers like leafyishere which I used to watch, yes Ik they said bad stuff). Overall I think it's pretty cool, though it's not my favorite aesthetic (I kinda prefer synthwave).

Vaporwave, Synthwave, Retrowave, Outrun. There's so many names for this kind of stuff, but I think I like most of them, if not all of them.
