Hello yall! I'm curious in regards to Frutiger Aero in terms of graphic design, and I was wondering if anyone has any insight or knowledge on DORFic in specific? Specifically, it's origins such as who coined the term, any notable designers, etc. I'm curious as to where and when this particular graphic design style emerged from. Some resources such as image archives or articles would also be very helpful as well! Thank you!
Not gonna lie, I didn't know the term DORfic until now lmao xD I was curious so I checked on internet, and I found an interesting article (in French), frutiger-aero.fr/DORFic . It mentions where the origins of this graphic design are from (after, this article only gives few sources, so I guess it need to be taken with a grain of salt) Except for the orange color, it immediately makes me think of the game Detroit Become Human, I think the UI design graphic got similar vibes
The oldest reference to DORFic I can find is from the Aesthetics Wiki, which also coined other terms for the sub aesthetics of Frutiger Aero, so It's probably orginated from there.
