Share any sites you found that still use the following visual styles in the current day:
Web 2.0 Gloss
They often feature reflections under objects, glossy buttons, transparency, and skeuomorphic elements (mimicking objects of real life). It was a popular style after the rise of Windows Vista in the mid 2000s and early 2010s.

Post-morphism
Those feature very subtle gradients, shadows, gloss, and a matte plastic feel, and it was a popular style during the transition to flat design in the mid 2010s.

Include a screenshot if you can and also a link to the site in question.

Tue Nov 11, 2025 10:14 pm Re: Is homestuck worth reading? Tue Nov 11, 2025 10:14 pm Re: Is homestuck worth reading?
it really depends on who you are. i think that reading homestuck needs a lot of commitment given its scale, so you have to REALLY think about it.
as for understanding it, there's a lot of things in homestuck you're not really meant to understand anyway?. it really gives you a lot of room to interpret different aspects of the story, which might as well be why you see a lot of discussion to this date.
if you decide to finally start reading, you can start from the official site which is being regularly updated. it doesn't have the entire comic, so you wouldn't be able to do it in one sitting. not sure how'd you go through that anyway... but i think it being proggresively rereleased can keep you engaged.
as for the series, it was brought up in a Q&A that it would try to keep as close to the comic as possible, so new fans can have the same amount of content and insight as most old fans without really having to read the comic.
Umm. i believe that's all. by the way, i don't know if you should've posted this in the Help center lol???? i don't know what the admins think but i hope i answered your question either way.

Tue Dec 02, 2025 7:30 pm Re: Two truths and a lie Tue Dec 02, 2025 7:30 pm Re: Two truths and a lie
@lakes nope, 1 is true! I have 2 step siblings from my dad, and both of them are married, though one of them divorced and remarried. from my mom, I have 3, and one of them is married. I have 3 step niblings, soon to be 4. I also have too many cousins to count, and I think two of them had a kid together, they're siblings from the same aunt. that aunt also killed my uncle (her and my dad's little brother) in his sleep when he was 5 years old. though I don't see any of my dad's family that often, I do see my mom's family more often. her family is really nice, and her fiance is like, the nicest, funniest, goofiest guy ever. he's almost like my dad at this point, I don't see him that often but he pays more attention to me than my real dad lol XD
ok my next guess is 3
yep! all the SA/rape jokes in both series made me really uncomfortable :purple_shivering: - 1 Been thanked

Sat Dec 13, 2025 8:16 pm Re: quare Sat Dec 13, 2025 8:16 pm Re: quare
Welcome on board to the forum quare! That's alright if you aren't sure how to introduce yourself, you just did and it was alright! Looking forward to hearing more about your game interests and really stupid stuff. It sounds like we share a bit in common with interests, I am sure you will fit in well with this community, there are plenty of likeminded people here who can share more in your interests as well.
Like the Klonoa pfp as well. I miss being able to play that game (Empire of Dreams specifically) on my old GBASP. :yellow_cry:
thx :] i honestly just picked klonoa up out of curiosity from some youtube videos (i forgot which but i think it was starting around phantasy reverie's release) but since my old laptop wasnt powerful enough to run ps2 games which left me out of playing klonoa 2, i picked up door to phantomile. i will be forever happy of that decision. though my laptop kinda toasted itself from idk what on the charging board so. that left it out of commission. the hdd's fine though i think so my save files are ok
didnt really remember there were klonoa gba games until like. the nso rerelease lol. playing through empire of dreams and i can confirm! good game - 1 Been thanked

Wed Nov 12, 2025 1:54 pm What is the story behind your username? Wed Nov 12, 2025 1:54 pm What is the story behind your username?
Share why you are called what you are called!
Here's the evolution of my username:
I originally went by Skylandersackgirl. It was me combining my two childhood special interests, Skylanders and LittleBigPlanet. The sackgirl part aged poorly, I'm trans now haha.
People often called me Sky for short, so that became my accepted nickname online.
In 2019, I had an itching to change my username to something else. At the time I was fixated on both Professor Layton and A Hat In Time. I thought that maybe I should change it to "ProfessorHatKid", but I wanted to keep the Sky nickname, I thought of "ProfessorSkyKid" and it just kinda stuck. Then in 2020, it became SkyKidIsAwesome, and in 2022 I changed it to just SkyKid.
There was one issue though, SkyKid unfortunately tends to be taken on a lot of sites, so in 2023 I came up with using SkyKidShyKid whenever it was taken, cos it rhymes and i am indeed very shy irl.
anyways yeah thats my story, what is yours? - 1 Been thanked

Sun Nov 16, 2025 5:01 pm Explain your aesthetic Sun Nov 16, 2025 5:01 pm Explain your aesthetic
This is for anyone who has an aesthetic on their profile that might need some explanation... or to just ramble about how much you like it.
For me, "Bayer Dithering" is just something that I use a lot in my personal art. For example, here's a little fan video I made for S.T.A.L.K.E.R:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMtn5XpjCtk
And a drawing I did of my friend:
https://forum.agoraroad.com/index.php?attachments/jake-wins_l-png.169240/
You see those pixels dotted across everything? That's called "dithering," and there's different methods of it. Essentially, dithering adds noise to an image in such a way that smooths everything out when the number of colors is reduced.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1a/Composite_image_demonstrating_dithering_effect.png
If you look at these three images, you'll see that the one on the left has a full color spectrum, while the two on the right have had their palettes restricted to 16 colors. The middle image looks a bit chunky though, and the demarcation between colors is kind of distracting. To smooth things out, the image on the right has dithering applied to make the image more clean.
You'll remember that I mentioned different methods of dithering, with my chosen aesthetic being Bayer dithering. The example of the cat above was through a method called "Floyd-Steinberg Dithering," the most common kind that you'll probably run into the most. If you've ever seen a gif with any dithering on it, odds are that this is the method used.
But there's also another form of dithering mostly known as "Ordered Dithering..." and this is the Bayer Dithering that I like the most.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ef/Michelangelo%27s_David_-_Bayer.png
Bayer dithering is usually used on two-bit color palettes, and it's here that you can see the iconic, grid-like pattern that it establishes. It makes images look "video gamey," and when used in image editing it can actually hide a lot of flaws. There's not much color correction you need to do in order to hide the fact that you're putting one image into a mismatched environment. And, of course, it just has a pleasant look to it. It's a lot of fun to use in image and video editing, and while I don't actually think it's the best-looking aesthetic out there, I work with it all the time to the point where I'd consider it a signature of sorts. - 1 Been thanked

Fri Nov 21, 2025 3:16 am Re: Anyone like to draw???????? Fri Nov 21, 2025 3:16 am Re: Anyone like to draw????????
Thanks. I would but the thing is the fax machine is in my dad's room and I don't wanna have to log in on there just to show my drawings, especially since he doesn't use a vpn I think. My room doesn't have enough space for a fax machine unfortunately.
Try using a mobile scanning app. I did use one from google from time to time, issue is its from google. - 1 Been thanked

Sun Dec 14, 2025 2:46 am Re: Rejecting art/design commissons Sun Dec 14, 2025 2:46 am Re: Rejecting art/design commissons
i would say that i used c.ai as a coping method but i won't do it because otherwise i will end up being the main meal of the forum's dinner
i won't judge you for using it
but overreliance on AI can damage your critical thinking skills on top of being extra bad for the environment and really invasive
so i'd say be careful with them - 1 Been thanked

Thu Dec 18, 2025 11:14 am Re: living places Thu Dec 18, 2025 11:14 am Re: living places
I lived in couple of places in my life so far. Always in cities but varying in size.
All my teenage years I spent in Wrocław, Poland. About 700k people, totally love the place. It's well connected, close to interesting sites, bars and restaurants have an immaculate vibe. Most importantly - my best friends and family live there.
For university I moved to Den Haag, Netherlands. Slightly smaller than Wrocław with around 600k citizens. it's by the North Sea and you really can feel cities closeness to the water. The center is not very big, but it has some cool places. I enjoyed walking in the dune parks along the coast the most. Feels like second home, as I study here and met new friends in the university.
In 3rd year of uni, I went for exchange to Bangkok, Thailand. Totally new environment with 14 million citizens. The city had everything one might want. As for a working European with Dutch student finance support, most things were affordable. The downside though was the pollution, noise and unbearable heat. Amazing place for exchange, but I'd never live there for longer.
After that I moved to Leiden, Netherlands. It's the smallest of the cities I lived in, with 120k citizens. It's cute and all, but for me it's difficult to live here. Due to housing crisis in NL I had to take the apartment without wanting to live so far away from my work (1h 40 mins one way). There isn't much to do for me in the city itself as I only have a few friends here and feel kind of miserable.
All in all Wrocław and Den Haag were the best places I lived in, and I'm planning to move back to Wrocław next year as I finish my internship soon. In the future I would like to try living in Prague, as it has the vibrancy of a city that I enjoy (It's also my favorite city in the world).
Hope you liked reading my life story :) - 1 Been thanked

This is a bit of a weird question to ask but, I've been wanting to mess around with the VM's I installed on my computer so I was wondering if there are any like, old PC games outside of the mainstream stuff like say your fallouts and rollercoaster tycoons to play around with in these VMs that you guys may know of :0
Try clannad,a cool visual novel game :3 :yellow_bouncey:
I bought that game on sale but haven't got to play it yet. Hope to have time for it someday - 1 Been thanked
