I discovered Mirror's Edge through Solar Fields' original soundtrack.

When Frutiger Aero got popular, a lot of people mentioned Mirror's Edge as part of the aesthetic. The Robert Pope & Associates office looks really beautiful and just like those classic frutiger aero offices.

But what really strikes me as frutiger aero is the original soundtrack of Mirror's Edge. Solar Fields did a phenomenal job at capturing that free, clean, and empowering look. The entire soundtrack really gets you immersed when you're running from PK, or when you're traversing the storm drain.

The first time I heard "Introduction", I fell in love instantly with the franchise. I just had to play the game, and it was even better than I imagined. Really beautiful environments for a game made in 2008. The movement is great, I actually love the story, and the combat is pretty fun.

One of my other favorite tracks is "New Eden", that plays when you visit the New Eden mall to find who Travis "Ropeburn" Burfield was planning to meet up with. Running through the bright yellow mall, and listening to the ambience is really great. When Pirandello Kruger's SWAT raids the building, the song starts getting more intense, until when it's all over it is peaceful again.

It's become one of my biggest hyperfixations, and I hope this post introduces the game to you as well!

Never played the second but the first is definitely awesome. Playing it maxed out looks as good as any current stuff. The architecture feels believable but surreal. Definitely get a liminal space vibe from a lot of the locations.
