old educational windows games

Unread post by ee »

do you think that the educational games released between the 95 era and the XP era still fits for children today, especially in a time full of brainrot and social media hell?
i really hope it does, because i dont want my children to get infected by the AI slop and random, weird stuff that are DEFINITELY not for kids
also i would really appreciate telling me any educational old programs you know from the old era, thanks

Ooohh, I completely forgot about those! I think that the only thing holding these games back are the dated graphics compared to what's popular with kids nowadays like Fortnite or Roblox however I'm pretty sure that the lessons taught in them still definitively hold up to this day. From personal experience, I remember playing the Reader Rabbits games when I was in early elementary, and how those lessons gave me an advantage in class when I was learning the associated curriculum.

Beyond that, I do agree with you. I genuinely have no idea what it is like for kids these days with the current state of youtube and the entertainment market so I believe that anything that can stimulate their brains and make them think is a great approach to have.

I think they would hold up all aspects except in history. It was realy common in the 90s and early 00s that teachers taught information that was wrong.
And i imagine that this games aren't better either.

Judging by what I've examined, kids might take some random detail about a game and turn it into the world's next junk "meme" that children around the world will just constantly repeat. Especially with mathematical games since kids rn are just saying "6 7".

But that's kids who are already ruined.

When I was a kid, I didn't do this. Because Tik Tok wasn't a thing, and people weren't impatient to cartoonish levels.
