Do you know, if that happens, how you plan to give the server address? Maybe I'll add a link on the sidebar, anyways I'm struggling to find hosting that supports beta versions.
Haha, I can't really help.
- Self-hosted would probably take a lot of time and energy to set up, and you'd have to pay for electricity on top of that. - And I'm afraid a VPS would be too expensive for what it offers. I know some aren't that expensive, but I don't know if it would run a Minecraft server properly. We'd have to see.
Unfortunately, I don't know the differences in price or quality between the VPSs available on the market and the sites that offer to host a Minecraft server directly.
Since I am a modern Minecraft w/ mods person, and I didn't know how to mod beta 1.7.3, I just used 1.21.10 + ViaFabricPlus. Which the only thing that was bad (in my experience) was inventory management and crafting, where it was like I had to keep my mouse over slots for a second for items to move around. It's probably just a me/ViaFabricPlus problem though anyway.
I did play with the Visual Vibrance shaders though, and I'd like to know your guys' opinions on using Vibrant Visuals with old Minecraft, as shaders existed for a long time, but there were never official shaders like this*.
