I see no worries :)  On the PC version of the forum, when you create a new thread or quote a message in a thread, you can add an image by clicking on this little icon (circled in blue)

It will open a new little window, and you can add the URL of your image here. And you image will then appear on your post :D
You can also add an alt text if you wish too

If your image is oversized, you can resize it with using this instead, on the BBcode tab :

[img src="URL OF YOUR IMAGE" style="height: VALUE px; width: VALUE px;"]

In VALUE, you add the size in pixels you want your image to be resized (for example height: 100px; width: 150px)

On the mobile version of the forum, I checked quickly but it doesn't seem you can add image easily, there is no option for it
Hope it can help !

If I am correct, the forum just straight up doesn't support WebP images (I haven't tested but it probably also doesn't support JPEG XL)

WebP is not a bad format, rather instead, programs that don't support WebP are outdated or only support PNG and JPEG.

WebP has been around since 2010 and has gotten undeserved hate because all the crappy outdated programs people use didn't support it for a long time.

WebP is a Google thing I'm okay with since Google can't shove surveillance crap into WebPs because images that require internet connection to even work would just fail completely as a concept.
Although Google Slides doesn't support WebP!?!?

Edit: Someone told me that they tried to insert a WebP into a Gmail email, and it didn't work… I tested it and it did so…?
They also told me about the Slides thing but searching DuckDuckGo tells me that's a real problem
