Re: How did everyone come here for the first time?
a while back when i noticed that frutiger aero archive exists and so i just went there
there was also a forum and i was checking some topics, then just leave
later on after awareness of how forums can be better, i started to gain interest in joining some forums...so i decided to join here first (and make my first topic as a guest)
and here we are today

My story is pretty similar, although it did take me a while to join this forum after I learned about it despite already being on other forums... but yeah!ravingshapes wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 1:55 pm

Re: How did everyone come here for the first time?
I delated all my social media off my phone that i knew would be addicting to me for a better internet experience. Ofc, that's not to say i stopped using social media as a whole as i use tumblr and youtube in order to interact with my fandom, but after i stopped using my phone i had more time in my life to do the things i wanted. The first thing i did was create my own website and i looked at others as an example. Exploring neocities i found this site(not the forum one) and i thought it was amazing, its one of the websites i use daily. It was only a few days ago when i realized there was a forum i could join.

Re: How did everyone come here for the first time?
I was thinking of making a topic with the same title because I've also been wondering where y'all came from.
I still can't wrap my mind around so many people joining this forum when I thought it would have max 10 inactive people when I first launched it. Heck I don't know why I got so many visitors to my website either, I'm not saying that to brag about it but it has a LOT of visitors for what started as a simple Neocities website.
All this to say it's a weird feeling when so many people notice something you created and it has overwhelmed me a few times that I considered deleting it all because emotionally I don't deal well with big responsibilities (like managing a community), but thankfully everyone has been very nice so it wasn't as big a burden as managing a discord server for example where people are constantly being toxic or creeps. I hope that if it grows larger that more people will apply as moderators because it might be hard to manage someday.
But yeah my idea for creating this forum is that I thought my target audience would appreciate it, since forums are a nostalgic thing for many, and something that a lot of people don't know is still around and available if you look for it. Maybe it's not the best designed forum in the world compared to some others but it's something and I'm hoping to bring more people especially younger ones back to more simple forms of online social spaces such as this forum instead of Reddit, Discord and Twitter.

Re: How did everyone come here for the first time?
Good question it all started when i was in newgrounds, i found someone with the "board" link and when i clicked it it looked so cool and it had somewhat nostlagic UI, so i tried looking other forum boards andddddd i found this one,yup frutiger aero forum (when i went into the tech board category ),anyways i was HELLA FASCINATED when i first went into this coolest forum website, like the holy shit the UI is insane,it had interesting discussion and i was like "yup im registering on this, fuck da modern internet i gotta get into this shit,no algorithim,no rude people (objective.) and most importantly IT WAS MADE BY A PERSON!!!!" Good lord ive never felt free before,im glad i discovered this.
