Is homestuck worth reading?

Its got like a bajillion pages and most of the people that read it didnt even understand what it was about. also with the animated series coming out soon i just dont know if i should start

it really depends on who you are. i think that reading homestuck needs a lot of commitment given its scale, so you have to REALLY think about it.

as for understanding it, there's a lot of things in homestuck you're not really meant to understand anyway?. it really gives you a lot of room to interpret different aspects of the story, which might as well be why you see a lot of discussion to this date.

if you decide to finally start reading, you can start from the official site which is being regularly updated. it doesn't have the entire comic, so you wouldn't be able to do it in one sitting. not sure how'd you go through that anyway... but i think it being proggresively rereleased can keep you engaged.

as for the series, it was brought up in a Q&A that it would try to keep as close to the comic as possible, so new fans can have the same amount of content and insight as most old fans without really having to read the comic.

ive read like half of it? its pretty good so far and i would say yes its a fun read if you like time travel shenanigans, weird systems that parody something half the time and nobody has a consensus on how it works, and insane but interesting characters. and spending a lot of time reading...

i honestly don't recommend the official site. its almost always broken every time ive tried to read there and the interactive flash games and movies and a definite downgrade, they're static youtube videos... the unofficial homestuck collection's website was taken down, but i believe the repo of it is still up. so if you can figure that out, i recommend it instead.
