Windows 11 is a downgrade!
Linux is debatably but most likely an upgrade!

There's one big thing you'll need to keep in mind: you need two physical disks now to do dual booting. Before 11, you could install Linux and Windows on the same disk, but you'd have to do a little trickery to make sure your Linux boot loader wasn't overwritten with Windows updates. These days Windows will just outright blow up the Linux boot loader, so AFAIK it's not possible to have both installed on the same disk. I'm sure there's some way to still do it, but I bet it would require some weird technical stuff like changing the location of your Linux boot partition, or something similarly exotic.boreal_cryptid wrote: Sun Nov 16, 2025 3:56 pmedit: damn, i forgot abour dual boot! thank you for reminding me about it!not sure how smooth it would work for me, considering that i'm not really into tinkering the system...

you forgot to mention blood sacrifices and a ritual Linux dance.Bumhug wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 8:38 amI'm sure there's some way to still do it, but I bet it would require some weird technical stuff like changing the location of your Linux boot partition, or something similarly exotic.
