What are your opinions on the age checks? Are you doing them? For me, I don't think I will.

roblox is the only way i can communicate with some of my friends and i have to do this garb? ridiculous

i feel like they're only really doing it to save face considering the whole #FreeSchlep debacle... maybe they wouldnt have to do this if they, yknow, had actually good moderation?

i didn't have to do it since i already gave roblox my ID a long time ago for voice chat... i think the IDEA of it is fine?? specially controlling which age groups interact with other age groups but completely taking away chat for people who haven't done it is extremely silly. it kind of takes away the core point of roblox, in a way. the Online social hangout.

i think it's absurd.. it's going to completely kill off roblox if this happens. not just because players will be segregated by age, but because this also extends to team create (source)

also i just think "we're going to force players of all ages to send us video selfies of themselves that we will definitely delete" is really the worst possible option here. like.. okay, man. i guess we're having nine year olds take selfies for roblox staff now. this certainly won't backfire

Absolute invasion of privacy, never give your real face to anyone or any service on the internet, you don't know when they're gonna get hacked and your info will be leaked (which has happened before).

Also to my understanding, they say they delete your picture right after taking it (gotta trust them for that ig?), and use an AI to estimate your age. In this case you don't even need to show your real face, just show some video game character, or something.

i know someones already probably posted about this, but i want your opinion on this,, i think its very risky tbh ,,, very risky for a large company because how are people gonna chat with younger siblings now or something??

They use persona, and according to persona they take up to 30 days or more to delete your face!
