i'd like to become a better photographer and lean more into my creative side, but i'm not entirely sure how.
I live in a city, though I mainly reside in a more "ghetto" looking neighborhood and don't often have much time to get out besides my walks in the morning and evening. The neighbourhood can look nice, but i'm not skilled enough to take good enough photos. If anyone could give me any ideas whatsoever on what I could maybe look around for and take photos of, or even just how to be a better photographer. And I don't mean the basics, rule of thirds, framing, etc. Just anything that could be useful for the next time I whip out the camera. my camera is the Nikon d3500 and I have the base lense and another sigma 28-70mm lense. I also have a Nikon 30-80mm lense but the nikon (not base) and sigma lenses don't autofocus whatsoever for some unknown reason unless they're placed on my film camera (nikon f70). Image

You could try to do macro photography with an adapter, it's fun and you can do it in your backyard or any place with some grass.
Also, shoot in RAW if you don't already, it gives you more room to edit your photos afterwards.

If you don't know what to photography, just try capturing your daily life or the places you go to. Street photography.
