I did it. LINUX TIME!!

Unfortunately, Windows 7 was running quite badly on my laptop. It got hot, updates failed and it was just slow in general so I took the plunge and installed Linux Mint. (XFCE) Looks nice!
(going to customize it and hopefully make it more "aero" soon :)

I switched to Linux Mint & XFCE recently too. XFCE works mainly with gtk3/4 & xfm4 themes (but xfm4 is only for the titlebars). But you gotta extract the files into the right folders (~/.themes & /usr/share/themes). With icon packs, it's the same thing except different folders. Anyway I can't wait to see how you customize your computer.
Here's what mine currently looks like:
an aero glass theme with a windows 7-style purple titlebar, a dark version of the windows media player 11 skin for spicetify, & skeuomorphic folder icons
