Sharing pictures of my beloved PSP 2000, mint color. This is a Japanese model, I bought it 2 years ago second-hand, and I truly love this console ! Really comfortable to play, amazing sound and image quality, and great games catalog. Its previous owner bought it in Tokyo in 2007, and took great care of it (and Iâm taking care of this PSP now too !)
Some games thumbnails (here Pangya Fantasy Golf and Hatsune Miku Project Diva Extend)
What I am playing at the moment (Remember11 - The Age of Infinity)
Showcasing different official and custom themes :
Windows XP (custom theme)
Bubble (custom theme)
Doko Demo Issyo - Toro and Nyako x Martha Smith Cat Cafe Club (official theme)
Persona 3 Portable (official theme)
btw, it's one of my fav games !
Windows Vista (custom theme)
(If you wish to get the source/link of a theme, donât hesitate to let me know)
The outside luminosity was great today, so I finally took the time to take pictures of my PSP for sharing them on the forum

Ohh nooo I'm sorry for you that's terrible

that's the reason I'm afraid to open my PSP for cleaning it, it's really a fragile console to open, so I try to clean the best I can with air pump, microfiber cloth etc
What's the color of your PSP btw ?

Mine was silver colored. Also if you ever want to open it, it's actually very easy but just be really careful with the screen's ribbon cable, I applied too much force trying to get it off because I forgot to remove a screw, once you actually remove all the screws it comes out very easily.

holy crap remember11 spotted?
sony in the 00's had no dang boundaries with ribbon cables. seriously every single sony device i know of from around that time has huge issues with them LOLOL they really had a thing about overengineering back then.
im thinking of picking up a psp or vita at some point... would anyone reccomend one over the other?

I finished the game two days ago (true ending + a bunch of bad endings for better understanding the story), incredible and mind blowing story, what a ride it was !! And the soundtrack is amazing too ! Honestly I need to read more mysteries VN in the future lmao
Yeah Sony and their proprietary cables during 2000s/2010s are so annoying, I got a Sony music player who also got a proprietary cable, if I lost it that's will be a big problem
About Vita and PSP, never got a Vita but I heard very good reviews about it, it seems to be a very comfortable handheld to play, with a great games catalog, and easy to jailbreak, but since the Vita becoming more and more popular recently (what an irony, thinking how the Vita was considered as a commercial failure by Sony), its prices on second-hand marketplace are more and more expensive

that's also the case with PSP about expensive prices. And ofc I recommend having a PSP, really good console, after it's about which one do you prefer between the PSP 1000, 2000, 3000 or Go (l advice to take a look on comparative guide about each PSP consoles on Reddit or internet to know which one got which features), I just don't recommend the PSP Street, less pricey but missing a lot of features and quite bad manufacturing quality
I think mostly choosing between a PSP and a Vita will be about the games catalog, and about the joystick (PSP only got one, Vita got two)

very nice! is your battery original? i still have my psp i bought way back in the day but it's battery swelled up in like 2014 and stopped working. i don't really trust the random batteries on amazon. if you like jackass, you should try jackass the game. i remember that game being good fun

Thanks ! Nope it's not the original battery, the previous owner changed it with a new one shortly before selling it, argh I'm sorry for you unfortunately the original PSP batteries are often now swelling and becoming a fire hazard
From what I can advice (from what I learned when looking for buying a PSP years ago), Ostent is the best brand for new batteries, only buy capacity between 3.6v 1400mAh and 3.6 v2200mah maximum, and don't buy official PSP Sony batteries, because they aged very badly. For more in depth informations, I share these two good threads from the r/PSP community :

thank you so much for the advice! i ended up buying an ostent battery 1400 which arrived yesterday and it booted up instantly when i put it in. i don't think without this thread i would've ever looked into it so i wanna thank you because inside was a hidden treasure that gave me some real nostalgia.
