this thread is about Frutigeropolis, which is for now newly listed as 'coming soon' on steam. According to the reddit post the developer made (where you can also see actual footage of the game), it's mostly about exploration, with some interactive elements, puzzles, secrets and collectibles. and no ai!
the screenshots on steam seem to be from a single, green area, but the dev has said they'll be doing "every frutiger theme".
i checked the dev's reddit and instagram, here's what i found:
- no jumpscares, just vibes
- probably no day/night cycle from what i've read
- for PC by default, but the dev mentioned consoles as a maybe-second step, and mobile wasn't out of the question
- the default is singleplayer, but the dev didn't seem opposed to multiplayer, but said that hangouts in the game would probably get boring quickly, so we'll see.
apparently the dev is hoping to have the game out by late 2025 or early 2026. i'm a slow moving person, so i find that pretty ambitious, but two months ago there was no potential release date at all, so maybe things really are moving that quickly.
for now, i see this as a cool project to keep an eye on. the dev's blender experience and interest in frutiger aero since this january (judging by their instagram posts) has me hoping this will go somewhere.
