Directions Companies Might Take With Neumorphism

Most of us know by now that some companies, such as Apple, have started experimenting with Neumorphism. It isn't fully skeumorphic yet, the textures don't quite feel real or touchable yet, but it is a step forward from complete flat images now that it is starting to add light effects. Do you think this will gradually lead to skeumorphism/AERO all over again, go right back to minimalism, or maybe even something else?

i think it might lead to a new design trend entirely. what that is yet, i don't know, but i hope it's gonna be as good as aero was

I think the most likely answer would be what the designer kilobyte bsky.app/profile/did:plc:d2eejfaxxo4acxbwp466vqux makes, especially the more modern designs.

The current trend for UI design is definitely a step in the right direction... I'm still not sold on it, though. It looks less like skeuomorphism and more like what someone who had only ever done the Corporate Memphis style would consider "skeuomorphic."
But beggars can't be choosers, I guess. It's still better than what we've had recently.

I agree with you. While UI design is becoming less bland, I'm still not a huge fan. I'll take Newmorphism over flat design any day, but not over something like Skeumorphism.
