How exactly did you discover Frutiger Aero?

We've all discovered Frutiger Aero in our own fashion. So, what's your story? How did you find out about Frutiger Aero and eventually this forum?

I used to call the style "iOS 6 Gloss" as I didn't know the proper term. One day, I looked up the term again and found Skeuomorphism, which I assumed that was what it was called. At the beginning of 2024, I saw a video about what Frutiger Aero was and found out about the Neocities Frutiger Aero site. In early 2025, I looked Frutiger Aero up again and came upon the archive.

I used products that adopted the artstyle pretty much during my entire childhood as it was very prominent around that time and it gives me that "nostalgia" feeling that wanted me to come and lurk for anyone with the same interests as I have :))

edit: technically i already used ps3, windows 7 and vista. but i didn't know it had a term until then

I used Windows 7 as one of my first operating systems back when I was a kid, but I never really used or heard "frutiger aero" until a few years ago, I found that that was the name of this style after searching a lot "how to make linux looks like windows 7" then the results were something like "KDE Plasma frutiger aero themes" or something like that.

I was part of the Discord version since the 2ndish day it was around! Around mid-2021 I heard of the Frutiger Aero term but at the time it was even more niche than skeuomorphism. I remember when the Frutiger Aero sub had less than 20 posts total.

It was the style of Windows Vista and I had a Vista computer, so that was my introduction to it.

I found this site by trawling through websites for random stuff on the internet and this board's topics piqued my interest. To be frank, it was one of the few forums I found that wasn't just blatant trash.
