It will open a new little window, and you can add the URL of your image here. WebP is not a bad format, rather instead, programs that don't support WebP are outdated or only support PNG and JPEG.
WebP has been around since 2010 and has gotten undeserved hate because all the crappy outdated programs people use didn't support it for a long time.
WebP is a Google thing I'm okay with since Google can't shove surveillance crap into WebPs because images that require internet connection to even work would just fail completely as a concept.
Although Google Slides doesn't support WebP!?!?
Edit: Someone told me that they tried to insert a WebP into a Gmail email, and it didn't work⦠I tested it and it did so�
They also told me about the Slides thing but searching DuckDuckGo tells me that's a real problem
