Re: is firefox that good
I use LibreWolf which is a fork of Firefox because it respects your privacy and it doesn't try to block ad-blockers like Chrome does. I also love all the extensions that it offers.
But generally Chrome will load websites faster than Firefox I noticed, especially YouTube.

Firefox is good. It's more lightweight than Chrome and unlike modern Chrome, has full adblock support.
You can also install Geckium to make it or other browsers based on it look like older versions of chrome.
There's also tab containers which are useful if you wanna separate site cookies or stay logged into 2 different accounts at the same time.
However Firefox's recently started integrating "AI" into the browser, among other things.
So I use Librewolf as my primary browser. But since DRM is diabled & "resist fingerprinting" enabled by default in Librewolf, I still use Firefox for certain things. If the AI stuff is a deal breaker for you, I'd recommend looking into Waterfox. Waterfox is based on Firefox ESR & I don't think as many websites break in it as Librewolf.
I'd also like to add that it's probably better to use another browser for google websites or even a separate app if you care about speed & are gonna use Firefox or a browser based on it as your primary. There's chromium browsers that are more privacy-respecting than Chrome like Ungoogled Chromium or Brave. I personally just watch youtube, using the program Freetube, since it has sponsorship block, adblock, and saves your subscriptions/history/playlists locally on your device.

I use marble, I think it's good with geckium. Marble version is a little old, but works nicely on most of the pages I access. I also use chrome for some work, but the higher workload I do in Firefox.

Re: is firefox that good
I noticed that Firefox is starting to be more and more slow for loading pages, I didn't have those issues before. Maybe I should change for something else.

could be that maybe the websites you're visiting are prioritizing chromium browsers moreVivi wrote: Thu Dec 04, 2025 12:25 amI noticed that Firefox is starting to be more and more slow for loading pages, I didn't have those issues before. Maybe I should change for something else.![]()
so maybe look into browsers based on chromium. some of them like brave or vivaldi also have built-in ad blockers if that's a concern for you

Re: is firefox that good
Tldr:
LibreWolf: most privacy respecting, reccomended.
Waterfox: okay for drm media (Disney+, Netflix, etc.)
Firefox: instead of data going to Google, it goes to Mozilla, who's paid by Google. Also AI junk is being shoved in
Tor: connects to the Tor network, disables things for privacy and lack of uniqueness so that it's hard to be tracked; causes websites to be the most broken. Meant for the dark web or smth. Backed by the CIA.

Re: is firefox that good
Firefox is alright for everyday web browsing, functionality wise, but if Palemoon supported uBlock Origin and YouTube Redux, then I'd switch to using that exclusively.
So here I am, it's in my hands, and I'll savor every moment of this...
