I was originally gonna go with Windows 7, but then I remembered? found out? rediscovered? that you need 100 gb of storage to use the aero themes. I'd be okay with it if it was on my physical machine, but for a virtual machine, it'd just take up space. Plus I'm already able to have aero glass, frosted glass & widgets in my KDE Plasma Debian Virtual Machine on 20 gb of storage. Hell, I'm able to have aero glass with XFCE on my physical machine. So there was less of a need.

I also started using "gnome boxes" for my virtual machines. I found that it autodetects the minimum hardware requirements for you & has a small but useful directory of free linux operating systems, which makes the process easier for me. It's kinda ugly though like most gnome apps in my opinion.
