Found this website the other day, they got a lot of cool wallpapers of various Apple products (iMac, PowerBook, iPod etc) from early 2000s !
A lot of them are from official promotional images/ads, there're also other various wallpapers like landscapes, architecture etc (there're few OS-tan wallpapers too)

It's half broken at the moment but if you want to test and suggest things, select "experimental (wip)" on the theme selector in the top navbar, and click the paintbrush icon to go to the dark theme (I will remove the other color options later for this theme).

The header was perfect before, but now it's kind of broken. Posting a reply uses black font which is hard to see as well.

It's an interesting idea, but I don't see it happening. I've never seen a meme "movement" succeed, and it's unlikely that one ever will. Memes are natural, and people only share them because they find them funny or interesting. Normals aren't interested in bringing back memes from before their time, and if this movement does have any significant traction it'll only be seen as annoying at best and a target for harassment campaigns at worst.

My first attempt at a "proper" Windows Aero-like div background. I noticed that this type of texture is oddly rare in modern "Frutiger Aero" designs and websites so I'd thought I'd drop this.

What do you guys think makes Frutiger Aero Music sound like Frutiger Aero?

There really isn't a defining genre for it, it seems to either be like DnB, some form of jazz or another genre I don't know name of
A few things that seem to a commonality is slow/medium pace and reverb?

I don't have the technical skills to create my own forum yet, I know nothing of back-end programming, so that was not an option for me. I will admit that Proboards kinda sucks but it does the job for what I need it to do at the moment. When I have the skills to make my own, I will, but for now, this'll do.

Nice assumption, but no, we don't "organize on discord", 99% of people here I have never talked to on Discord. Besides, it's none of your business what people are using, it's not your problem.

Linux is great for servers but it's not a perfect alternative to Windows. There is many software that requires Windows and that don't have good open-source alternatives. Maybe good enough for you, but don't assume everyone has the same needs as you.

We're not larping as anything, this is a forum where we discuss old aesthetics and nostalgia, it's not as deep as you make it out to be.

You seem to have this weird concept that everyone self-hosted their forums and websites in the old internet. That's just not true, go look at the millions of GeoCities websites that people made back in the day, these were not "self hosted" as you say, yet they're an integral part of the old web history. Frutiger Aero is more a late 2000s thing, it's Web 2.0, when the web already was more centralized but not quite as bad as today.
Plus, Frutiger Aero is not only about the old web, it also encompasses other things such as UI design, operating systems, video games, and more.

Sure they do, I haven't denied that? This is such a strawman argument it's unbelievable.

Some people think that Frutiger Metro is an inaccurate theme (me included). Adrian Frutiger's fonts and Metro UI have little to do with the vector based art that we refer to by Frutiger Metro nowadays.

There's alternate names such as Vectordelia, Vector Maximalism, Vectorculture, Vector Pop.

What do you think is a good name for it? Or do you like the current term Frutiger Metro?

Completely agree. This Windows Aero theme isn't bad at all, but the older Longhorn theme was my favorite just because it was dark mode.

I banned him because he is clearly not capable of having a discussion without being judgemental and extremely rude, also, gatekeeping nostalgia is such a boomer thing to do.
That aside, I'm gonna look into self-hosting and maybe get my own server, and learning PHP/MySQL for those things, because I see the advantages in doing those things.

It's a pretty simple install, I haven't really done much with it, but I like it, even if it was quite a pain to get drivers for my hardware.

Vectordelia and Vector Pop are my favorite alternate names. I even described my CITY wallpapers on my site as "Frutiger Metro/Pop-styled".
