Initially, when I was very young, I made my username cool[real name]64 bc I thought adding "cool" to my name would make me cool and this was around the time when people would usually have numbers in their usernames so I chose "64" because I was so into the N64 at the time. But then, when I decided to make a discord account, I realized my old username was lame as heck so I replace the "cool[real name]" part with "oof" bc I was in my roblox phase at the time. And then the rest is history. Nowadays, the only reason I have a zero as the first "o" in my name is to make my username unique incase some knucklehead decided to use the same username as me

my opinion on the new internet is that it depends on where you look. the mainstream stuff sucks ass now & maybe some of them even always sucked: youtube, twitter, spotify, etc. but you can still find neat obscure sites and forums if you know where to look for them, like this forum or neocities or some peertube websites. that's not even counting old services like irc or xmpp. granted, i've seen AI seep into niche forums unfortunately. but even then there are places that don't allow AI generated content like this one. i think the reason things seem so dire now is because we forgot we have a choice and have become dependent on these services. it also doesn't help that we sometimes have jobs where we're expected to use these services because "that's what everyone else is doing." i remember a job training course telling me i should sign up for linkedin to get a job and how uncomfortable that made me.

man ive never agreed more to a message like this,tbh speaking of jobs (which i dont got one) and how theyre becoming somewhat digital id say,its scary because not only it affects careers or sum shit but everything is BECOMING digital its insane bro like cant even go outside without seeing 17267282 ads shoved into my face (billboards im talking about,lacking humanity and art) when it comes to shitty country with shitty economy :orange_crybaby: , like dawg not everything needs to be digital wtf :orange_crybaby: ,speaking of new internet its 50/50 it depends on the way how its used mostly for me i 'doomscroll' on wikipedia about computer networks because woahh t heyre soo cool or i check on indie websites cuz fuck big companies lmao,honestly its weird how people (majority of them like i mentioned) misuse it to the point they lose a contact with the world like jeez.... :blue_neutral:

Frutiger Aero is an aesthetic which is used by corporations during mid 2000s-early 2010s. It's prominent features are skeuo-morphism, glossy textures and natural imagery. It's a futurist trend which is about combination of technology and nature, it's about a future we were promised...

As different from Y2K Futurism, Frutiger Aero doesn't contain metallic imagery and isn't from 90s/early 2000s.

I like Frutiger Aero because it mixes skeuomorphism and nature which looks very pleasing to the eyes in a comforting way. I prefer looking at images of nature or auroras surrounded by a glossy interface than a white background with everything being flat, it feels more futuristic.
Nostalgia also plays a role because I grew up with Windows Vista and Windows 7 and the consoles of that era.

There's one big thing you'll need to keep in mind: you need two physical disks now to do dual booting. Before 11, you could install Linux and Windows on the same disk, but you'd have to do a little trickery to make sure your Linux boot loader wasn't overwritten with Windows updates. These days Windows will just outright blow up the Linux boot loader, so AFAIK it's not possible to have both installed on the same disk. I'm sure there's some way to still do it, but I bet it would require some weird technical stuff like changing the location of your Linux boot partition, or something similarly exotic.

I think the idea of using a USB linux distro is a great idea. A lot of distros have "Live" images which means you can use Rufus ( https://rufus.ie/en/ ) in Windows to put the image on a USB drive and give Linux a test drive before committing to a particular distribution.
