I would learn Linux if it means I never have to use Windows 11 ever again.
if it helps, a lot of people recommend linux mint for newcomers because the default layout is like windows 10/7 and most things can be done through the user interface

I've been thinking of switching to Mint for starters and "leveling up" as I learn more about how Linux works.

honestly before i went to linux mint, i tried ubuntu and trisquel in a vm and i didn't like either of them that much. but that might be because it took a while for me to get used to everything on linux

A distro can be made to look like another distro
  • Daniele63Sun Nov 09, 2025 3:14 am
Distros are a myth it's all just debian fedora or arch based
  • Daniele63Sun Nov 09, 2025 3:14 am
    It's all forks
  • Kid_Cat64Sun Nov 09, 2025 3:14 am
Mint being a starter is quite ironic, what with Sprigatito the catnip Pokemon in Scarlet/Violet.

Well actually technically fedora is redhat-based
  • Kid_Cat64Sun Nov 09, 2025 3:15 am
I'd say Sprigatito being catnip (a type of mint) makes it a good mascot for Mint
  • lakesSun Nov 09, 2025 3:15 am
